HLTAID009
Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

This course includes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.
It applies to everyone who may be required to provide CPR in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

Topics:

  • Respond to an emergency situation

  • Perform CPR procedures, including use of AED (defibrillator)

  • Communicate the details of and review the incident

About the course:

  • 1-2 hr online self-paced pre-learning

  • 1 hr face-to-face session

HLTAID011
Provide First Aid

This course includes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) first aid guidelines.  

It applies to everyone who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

Topics:

  • Respond to an emergency situation

  • Apply appropriate first aid procedures

  • Perform CPR procedures, including use of AED (defibrillator)

  • Communicate the details of and review the incident

About the course:

  • 3-5 hr online self-paced pre-learning

  • 2 hr face-to-face session

HLTAID012
Provide First Aid in an education and care setting

This course includes the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid to infants and children in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.  It applies to education and care setting workers who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthma and anaphylactic emergencies.  

Topics:

  • Respond to an emergency situation

  • Perform CPR procedures, including use of AED (defibrillator)

  • Medical emergencies (asthma, anaphylaxis, seizures)

  • Injuries (wounds, bleeding, burns)

  • 3-5 hr online self-paced pre-learning

  • 3 hr face-to-face session

Course in the management of Asthma risks and emergencies in the workplace & Course in First Aid management of Anaphylaxis

This course includes the skills and knowledge required to identify and provide a first aid response to anaphylaxis, develop strategies to prevent exposure to known allergens and minimize risks related to anaphylaxis; and the knowledge and skills to be able to develop an asthma management strategy and provide asthma-related first aid interventions in the workplace.

Topics:

  • Respond to an emergency situation

  • Apply appropriate first aid procedures for asthma emergencies

  • Apply appropriate first aid procedures for mild to moderate allergic reations and anaphylaxis 

  • Administer common asthma medications

  • Administer an adrenaline autoinjector correctly

  • Communicate the details of and review the incident

About the course:

  • 3-5 hr online self-paced pre-learning

  • 3 hr face-to-face session
